Genes: neuropsychiatric diseases

Topics of the lecture

  • Enzymes that influence the metabolism of dopamine and serotonin play an important role in neuropsychiatric disorders; genetic variants of COMT and MAO may have different effects on stress resilience, pain threshold, and social behavior.
  • Genetically determined variants of COMT lead to different dopamine levels, which can cause either an increased pain threshold and better stress resilience or a decreased pain threshold, stress susceptibility and sleep disturbances.
  • Despite existing evidence, pharmacogenetic tests to predict drug effects are not yet widely used because genetic variants influence drug metabolism and lead to different metabolism rates.
  • The finding that genetic variants of apolipoprotein E (ApoE) increase the risk of Alzheimer's disease is debated, but testing has not been widely adopted; however, it is recognized that lifestyle changes can positively influence the course of the disease.

Lecture by Dipl. Physician Birgit Kohl, MSc.

The use of magnetic infrared laser therapy in a multimodal treatment approach

Topics of the lecture

  • Magnetic infrared laser therapy (MILTA) is a central component of the Alpstein Clinic's holistic treatment concept.
  • MILTA is used in a multimodal treatment approach to harmonize disturbed physiological processes, especially in patients with ADHD, autism, Tourette syndrome and vegetative imbalance.
  • Detailed description of applied programs, frequencies of use, treatment courses and summaries to document the therapeutic success in the mentioned patient groups.

Senior Physician ALPSTEIN CLINIC, Departments of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Autoimmune Diseases, Endocrinology and Biological Aesthetics

  • Biological treatment options for childhood and adolescent mood disorders (hyperactivity, ADHD/ADD, anxiety)
  • Diagnosis and treatment of childhood and adolescent complaints: allergies, susceptibility to infections, unclear pain, childhood illnesses, etc.
  • Vital field diagnostics and therapy for acute and chronic diseases of various origins

Lecture by Osteopath DO, Bsc. Jesse de Groodt

Holistic therapeutic approaches to optimizing neurotransmitter language

Topics of the lecture

  • Communication between the brain and the nervous system occurs via neurotransmitters, whose "grammar" consists of orthomolecular substances such as amino acids and peptides.
  • Therapies with low-level lasers and biophotons can significantly expand the treatment spectrum for communication dysfunctions in the nervous system.
  • The combined use of biochemical and biophysical principles offers alternative medicine new possibilities for improving brain functions, especially in memory disorders, depression, neurodegenerative diseases, ADHD and sleep problems.

Osteopath DO, BSc. (HONS) Eastern Medicine & Managing Director HOLIGOMED

  • Enthusiasm for orthomolecular medicine and nutritional sciences
  • Teaches at various schools in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Belgium
  • Passing on his networked thinking from holistic and orthomolecular medicine to therapists and doctors

Lecture by Dr. Elena Gross

Migraine therapy with ketone bodies

Topics of the lecture

  • Migraine may be both a metabolic and a neurological disorder, and research is underway to determine what measures can be taken to combat it.
  • Presentation of evidence for suboptimal metabolism in migraine and the potentially protective effect of ketone bodies.
  • Explanation of ketosis, different ways to achieve ketosis (including exogenous), and the possible therapeutic benefits for migraines and other conditions.

  • Inventor of four patents

Lecture by Christian Burghardt

The principle of Causa Logica - Reloaded

Topics of the lecture

  • Introducing the revised Causa Logica, which now makes the use of our MITOcare micronutrients even easier. Inspired by nature, Causa Logica combines specifically balanced nutrients and botanicals that complement each other perfectly. Instead of isolated ingredients, we offer harmonious synergies that support well-being.
