Together for Health, Exercise & Participation
MITOcare is a proud partner of the
German Down-Sport Festival 2026
on September 12th in Wetzlar
Why we support the German Down Syndrome Sports Festival with passion
"Every person deserves to be healthy."
How our vision inspired this collaboration
This idea guides us at MITOcare every day. That's why we develop high-quality micronutrient concepts that can help people promote their well-being in the best possible way. But for us, this involves more than just a good product: We also want to share the knowledge behind it and help as many people as possible to better understand their individual needs.
Sport has played a special role in this for many years. As part of various sports collaborations, we have been supporting athletes as a long-term micronutrient and knowledge partner and contribute our experience where nutrition, health, performance and regeneration interact.
We are therefore all the more delighted about a partnership that goes far beyond sport for us: From this year on, MITOcare is a partner of the German Down-Sportlerfestival. A commitment where exercise and health meet community, participation and joy of life – and which therefore fits our vision particularly well.
Moving Forward Together
A day full of sport, fun & community
On September 12, 2026, Wetzlar will host the 24th German Down Syndrome Sports Festival – according to the organizers, the world's largest sporting event for children, teenagers & young adults with Down syndrome.
But the festival is much more than a sports event. It is a day of encounters, where people with & without Down syndrome come together, are active together, try new things, and celebrate successes.
From classic track and field disciplines to numerous sports & movement activities, the focus is not on competition, but on the joy of experiencing something together.
That's exactly what makes this partnership so special for us. Because when movement brings people together, health is considered holistically, and everyone gets the opportunity to develop their own potential, a sports cooperation becomes something bigger.
Our Expertise Live
at the Sports Festival
Expert lecture by our MITOcare
Co-founder Christian Burghardt
The MITOcare team will be present at the 24th German Down Syndrome Sports Festival to actively support the event and accompany this special community.
At the same time, we want to bring our partnership to life with meaningful content and contribute our specialist expertise – our co-founder Christian Burghardt will therefore give a specialist lecture on micronutrients and the specific issues in the context of Down syndrome at the festival.
In the run-up to the festival, selected individuals will receive individual support from Christian Burghardt in his practice. As part of an anamnesis and micronutrient analysis, we will examine their personal supply situation and gain additional insights from practice.
At the festival, we will combine these experiences with the findings from the scientific research of our specialist and development team. In the lecture, we will show what current research says about micronutrients in Down syndrome, what insights can be derived from individual analyses, and why a differentiated view of micronutrient supply is so important.
Thus, our partnership becomes more than just support: We bring together research, practical experience & micronutrient expertise – and share this knowledge directly on site.
Review of Festival 2025
Our expertise as a micronutrient & knowledge partner
Micronutrients: What unites us, what divides us
What we all need. And what makes each of us unique.
Micronutrients such as vitamins, minerals & trace elements are essential for numerous bodily functions & metabolic processes. A balanced & varied diet forms the basis of a good supply, through which we absorb most of the required micronutrients. In addition, targeted supplementation can be useful to support the basic supply.
For as much as the fundamental need for essential micronutrients connects us, our personal circumstances are just as individual.
Our genetic blueprint, our diet, our lifestyle & our current micronutrient status can influence our personal supply situation. That's why our understanding of micronutrient supply also includes an individual perspective: Together with our specialist partners, we enable anamneses & analyses of the current micronutrient status to differentiate the personal initial situation.
This individuality becomes particularly clear when genetic peculiarities play a role – such as in Trisomy 21. Here, due to the triple expression of chromosome 21, additional demands and specific needs in metabolism can arise, which make an even closer look at the individual supply situation useful.
