Light is life – from photon to cell

Electron Transfer, Photobiomodulation & Hydrogen

How does the energy of light travel from the photon into the cell? Starting with photosynthesis, this lecture demonstrates how light energy is converted into chemical bonds via charge separation and proton gradients. Using Marcus theory and current review articles, it provides a clear explanation of the physical principles governing how electrons are transported in biological systems. Building on this, it examines the currently discussed mechanisms of action of photobiomodulation on the mitochondrial respiratory chain as well as the principle of mitohormesis. Finally, the lecture contextualizes the current state of research on the inhalative application of hydrogen and clarifies why the conceptual distinction between "storing electrons" and "storing energy in chemical potential" is crucial for understanding water electrolysis.

Lecture by Jesse de Groodt

When light therapy proves effective in practice!

What role can light play in everyday therapeutic practice?

Following the scientific insight into the mechanisms of action of light on the cell, things get practical. Using selected patient cases and personal practical experiences, Jesse de Groodt shows how low-level laser therapy can be specifically integrated into various therapeutic concepts – from established areas of application to outcomes that can surprise even experienced therapists. The focus is not on theoretical protocols, but on real-world practice: concrete applications, clinical observations, and documented case studies directly from everyday therapy. A practice-oriented lecture that shows when and how light therapy can be meaningfully incorporated into existing treatment concepts.

New dimensions in longevity medicine

New approaches, new possibilities

What comes after the well-known concepts of longevity medicine? This presentation looks at current findings, new technologies, and innovative approaches that could expand our understanding of health and healthy aging. The focus is on exciting connections at the intersection of biology, physics, and modern health research – from processes at the smallest level to new opportunities for prevention, regeneration, and vitality. Which developments are currently emerging in longevity research, and which of these could play an important role in the future? A presentation on new perspectives and unconventional ways of thinking that shows where the next generation of longevity medicine could be heading.

Quantum biology in the cell

How weak magnetic fields influence the body clock & metabolism & what this could mean for medicine

Classical physics describes many life processes using measurable quantities such as force, energy, and mass transport. Quantum biology examines whether tunneling effects, coherence, and entanglement also play a role in living cells. This lecture provides an accessible introduction to this emerging field of research. The radical pair mechanism serves as a bridge between quantum physics and measurable processes within the cell. The focus is on how weak electromagnetic fields affect cellular metabolism, including mitochondrial respiration, the body clock, and the response to oxygen deficiency. Finally, medical perspectives are classified, as are the limitations of current findings and open questions in research.

Longevity decoded

The molecular keys to aging

To treat aging, one must understand it, ideally at the molecular level. One of the first approaches dates back to the 1950s: Denham Harman's free radical theory, which remains highly significant to this day. Since then, many other aging factors have been added. In particular, the publication "The Hallmarks of Aging," released in 2013 and updated in 2023, now forms the basis for numerous approaches in longevity medicine. Factors such as silent inflammation, loss of mitochondrial function, glycation, stem cell exhaustion, and epigenetic alterations have significantly expanded our understanding of the aging process. At the same time, more and more money is flowing into the longevity sector, which has evolved from a fringe area of medicine into the mainstream. This opens up opportunities but also carries risks of commercialization. Therefore, the lecture also explores the question: Is the current longevity boom progress or hype?

Weitblick Munich – a venue that inspires

This year, a very special location awaits you: The Weitblick in Munich-Moosach impresses with its modern industrial charm, expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, and plenty of natural light. Atmospheric lighting, lovingly designed details, and an open floor plan create an environment where you feel at home from the very first moment, and which looks particularly beautiful during the Christmas season. Breakfast, the lunch buffet, and the St. Nicholas get-together all take place at the same venue, with no need to change locations, allowing you to focus entirely on the presentations and networking.

Experiences that connect – a genuine voice from the MITOcare community

During one of our past St. Nicholas parties, we personally interviewed a participant from the MITOcare professional community. We wanted to know: What does she value about the MITOcare Academy? How does she experience the St. Nicholas party as a community event? And what role do MITOcare products play in her daily work as a professional user?

The result is an honest, personal insight into practical experience, inspiring exchange, and the special connection that MITOcare maintains with its partners. Join us at ATOMIC INSIGHTS 2026 and become part of this community.
