The articulating joints depend on a finely tuned interaction of cartilage, bones, tendons, ligaments and synovial fluid. Apart from lubricating the joints, synovial fluid nourishes the joint cartilage, which consists mainly of the body's own chondroitin, collagen and hyaluronic acid. It has the function of providing sufficient lubrication of the joint surfaces, ensuring that there is as little friction as possible on the joints and helping to absorb shocks. The body's own production of various joint and synovial components usually decreases with age.

In addition to chondroitin sulphate, glucosamine sulphate, MSM, collagen and hyaluronic acid, ORTHOjoint* contains a specially composed plant complex of lycopene, frankincense, rutin from buckwheat, nettle, garlic and turmeric. Also included is manganese, which supports the formation of connective tissue.3 Vitamin C, selenium, zinc and natural vitamin E additionally contribute to protect bone and cartilage cells from oxidative stress.4 Oxidative cell stress is caused, for example, by increased sporting activity and noxious environmental factors such as UV radiation, ozone, nicotine, alcohol, pesticides, etc.
