The story behind methylene blue:

Methylene blue (methylthioninium chloride) is a bright blue, synthetic dye that was developed in 1876 by the chemist Heinrich Caro. Its discovery is considered a milestone in the chemical industry, as methylene blue was one of the first purposefully produced coal tar dyes. This significantly changed textile dyeing and laid the foundation for modern dye technologies.

Due to its chemical stability and specific binding properties, it continues to find diverse applications in laboratories, technology, and research. Over time, surprising discoveries about the versatile usability of this substance have been made repeatedly.
