Our MITOcare add·on NADH was developed for the targeted supplementation of 20 mg NADH & supplemented with bioactive D-biotin as a selected cofactor. In the body, NADH, as the reduced (electron-loaded) form of the body's own coenzyme NAD, plays a central role in the transport of electrons in the cellular energy metabolism of the mitochondria.
High-dose 20 mg NADH (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) per daily dose
NADH is the reduced form of the body's own coenzyme NAD (NAD⁺) – the electron taxi of the mitochondria
Specially developed lozenge technology to protect the sensitive NADH form
Sublingual application – simply let 1 lozenge melt under the tongue daily
With D-biotin for energy metabolism1
Pleasantly sweet orange flavor
The Cell's Electron Taxi – What is NADH?
The body's NAD system is increasingly becoming the focus of scientific research regarding cell energy, healthy aging (longevity), and mitochondrial function. Studies suggest that NAD⁺ levels in the body may decrease with age. A central component of this system is NADH – the reduced form of the coenzyme NAD.
NADH (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is the reduced, i.e., electron-loaded, form of the body's own coenzyme NAD (NAD⁺) and occurs naturally in almost all cells of the body. As part of cellular energy metabolism in the human organism, NADH plays a central role in the transport of electrons within the mitochondria. The difference between NAD⁺ and NADH can be vividly explained using a taxi metaphor, as described in many textbooks: NAD⁺ is the empty taxi. When it picks up electrons during cell metabolism, it becomes NADH – the "loaded taxi." The absorbed electrons are transported to the next steps of energy metabolism. Electrons are not energy themselves, but their carriers. There, they flow into the biochemical processes of energy production, where ATP is generated as the cell's universal energy carrier.
Especially during phases of high physical or mental stress, intensive sports, little sleep, or a demanding daily routine, targeted nutrient supplementation for the mitochondria can be beneficial. Against this background, interest in targeted supplementation with NADH – the electron-loaded form of the body's own coenzyme NAD – is also growing.
Reduced NADH in a specially developed lozenge form
MITOcare add·on NADH provides 20 mg of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) in its reduced, electron-loaded form per daily dose. Unlike many pure NADH products, the formula is specifically supplemented with bioactive D-biotin – the biologically active form of biotin and a deliberately selected cofactor that sensibly rounds off the formulation.
Since NADH is sensitive to oxygen, moisture, heat, and light, a specially developed lozenge technology was chosen. It helps to best preserve the reduced, electron-loaded form of NADH during storage.
Sublingual application makes integration into everyday life particularly easy: one lozenge daily slowly dissolves under the tongue – with a pleasant sweet orange taste, without swallowing capsules and ideal for on the go.
Premium Quality according to MITOcare Standard
As part of the MITOcare add·on product line, the formula follows the concept of a central single substance, supplemented by a specifically selected cofactor and a dosage form tailored to the content. Developed on the basis of current scientific findings, it combines high-quality raw materials, biologically thought-out formulations, and everyday applicability. Regular laboratory analyses by independent testing institutes stand for the usual high MITOcare Premium Quality.

PCL 03 > Energy & Mitochondria
Cellular Energy as the Foundation
Most cellular energy is produced in the mitochondria, and almost all cells in our body possess them. They are the powerhouses of our cells and enable the formation of ATP, the body's universal energy carrier. Where there is life, energy is needed – or, as we say at MITOcare: Life is electricity.
That's why mitochondria are far more than just a research focus for MITOcare. They form the core of our Principle Causa Logica – because where cellular energy is created, numerous biological processes begin that connect the entire metabolism.
This understanding is also reflected in our brand logo: the hummingbird. Due to its exceptionally energy-intensive flight, its flight muscles have a particularly high density of mitochondria and thus symbolize what drives MITOcare – efficient cellular energy as the basis of biological processes.
All complex products related to mitochondria and cellular energy are grouped under PCL Level 03 – Energy & Mitochondria.
Mitochondrial energy metabolism is a highly complex interplay of various biological processes. From the provision of energy-rich substrates via the citric acid cycle & the respiratory chain to protection against oxidative stress, numerous metabolic pathways intertwine. These four central areas of mitochondrial energy production form the scientific basis of our product development.
Instead of relying on individual ingredients, we develop formulations that utilize natural synergies of selected micronutrients and natural substances. Bioavailability, high raw material quality, purity & a scientifically sound composition are at the heart of every development.
Each complex product within the PCL Level 03 – Energy & Mitochondria pursues its own biological focus – from comprehensive all-round complexes to targeted formulations for individual metabolic processes. Together, they form a coordinated concept that considers mitochondrial energy metabolism from different biological perspectives.
Efficient cellular energy does not arise in isolation. Before mitochondria can convert nutrients into energy, they require the right building blocks & cofactors.
Therefore, a biologically well-thought-out basic supply at MITOcare begins with CL01 – Macronutrients and CL02 – Micronutrients. Building on this, PCL03 – Energy & Mitochondria complements this foundation with selected micronutrients & natural substances related to mitochondrial energy metabolism.
Depending on the individual focus, the products from PCL03 – Energy & Mitochondria – from all-round complexes to specialized formulations – offer a meaningful addition to a biologically well-thought-out supplement routine.
