Our MITOcare add·on Iodine is obtained from kelp algae, which is naturally rich in iodine. In the body, most of the iodine is found in the thyroid gland, where thyroid hormones are produced. Accordingly, an adequate iodine intake supports the healthy function of the thyroid gland and the production of thyroid hormones1. Among other things, the latter influence the basal metabolic rate in the body, which means that iodine also contributes to a normal energy metabolism2. Furthermore, Iodine supports a healthy nervous system3 and cognitive function4. The skin also benefits from iodine5. The kelp algae is accompanied by the traditional mushroom Agaricus blazei murrill.
