What does “extra virgin olive oil” actually mean?

“Extra virgin olive oil” is the highest quality level among all olive oils. The term "native" means that the oil exclusively by mechanical means– without chemical additives or refining – from fresh, cold-pressed olives is won.

The addition "extra" indicates a particularly high-quality oil with very low acidity, impeccable taste and optimal freshness. Only oils that contain these strict quality criteria may not be designated “extra virgin olive oil” carry.

How is olive oil processed?

What is the recommended daily dose?

Since our organic extra virgin olive oil because it is a purely natural product and food, there is no legally established daily intake. However, from a nutritional perspective, the following applies:

👉1 to 2 tablespoons per day(approx. 10–20 ml) are ideal for regularly supplying the body with valuable fatty acids & antioxidant plant substances to supply.

How long does the oil last after opening?

After opening, our organic extra virgin olive oil at cool, dark storage usually shelf life 6 to 12 months. It is important to always keep the bottle easy to close and before light, heat and oxygen to protect – because these factors accelerate the natural aging process of the oil.

Through a storage-friendly environment (e.g. pantry instead of refrigerator) the aroma, taste and quality the oil is preserved for a particularly long time.

A slight sediment or a natural cloudiness are a sign of a natural product and no lack of quality.
